Kogovsek & Associates, Inc. was established in 1985, after Colorado’s Third District Congressman Ray Kogovsek chose not to seek re-election to a fourth term. While the issues of importance to the District and his home state of Colorado remained his top priority, living in Washington and away from his family was not.
By forming a small, Colorado-based consulting firm with Christine Arbogast, a key staff member during Ray’s three-term congressional tenure, we two Colorado natives combined legislative experiences at the state and federal levels with an ongoing commitment to the West and to Colorado - its natural resources, its human resources and its future.
Our firm has remained small and that is by design.
Our priority is our clients and a close working relationship with them. We believe in involving the clients directly in the lobbying of federal and state agencies and congressional and legislative decision-makers, and applying our personal experience and contacts to make that lobbying effort most effective.
Kogovsek & Associates focuses on the concerns of our clients, both public and private entities, and not on maintaining the “right” K Street address in Washington or competing with mega-firms for the most prestigious corporate clientele.
In almost 30 years of consulting, primarily at the federal level, we have worked on responsible water resource management and development, transportation, Native American issues, appropriation of federal funds for a wide range of programs and capital projects, and the use and protection of our public lands.
Because our issues and clients transcend political party lines, we have established and maintained strong working relationships on both sides of the aisle and are proud to be known for that bipartisan approach to solving problems for those we represent.
